Mikhail Volkov

Mikhail Volkov leads our CIS desk and our cross-jurisdictional sanctions practice. He advises Western corporates on sanctions exposure under EU, UK, US and Swiss regimes, and CIS-based clients on relocation, asset restructuring and compliance.

Mikhail qualified in Russia and Germany and spent five years in the Frankfurt office of a global firm focusing on financial-services regulation and sanctions enforcement. He writes the firm's authoritative sanctions checklists and CIS-jurisdiction guides.

His current practice is heavily focused on the relocation of CIS-based founders and family offices to Portugal, the UAE and other neutral jurisdictions, and on the legal structuring of payment flows that comply with the current sanctions package.
